JJC Trustee Petitions Can Be Filed Dec. 13 through Dec. 20

Petitions for the Joliet Junior College Board of Trustees election can be filed between Dec. 13 and Dec. 20.

Petitions may be filed from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day in room J-2050 in the J-Building on the Main Campus, 1215 Houbolt Road in Joliet. On the last day of filing, Dec. 20, hours to file are between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

This year, two terms are up for election, that of current trustees Jeff May and Mike O’Connell. O’Connell was appointed to fill the vacancy when former Trustee Dick Dystrup passed away in August 2009.

Each trustee term is six years, and trustee elections will be held in April 2011. JJC is directly governed by a seven-member Board of Trustees, all of whom are elected from within the district for six-year terms. A student representative, elected annually by the student body, is a non-voting member of the board.
