JJC Alum to Play in Tonight’s BCS Bowl Game

If you’re watching the BCS National Championship game tonight between the University of Oregon and Auburn, look for Joliet Junior College alumnus Brandon Williams.

Williams signed to play with the Oregon Ducks in December 2009 after his successful run as a tight end for the JJC Wolves.

“I’ve wanted to play college football since I was little,” Williams said at the signing. “Being able to continue doing that with Oregon is a dream come true.”

The 6’4″, 240 lb. Williams led the Wolves in 2009 with 908 yards on 56 receptions. He scored seven touchdowns that season, while averaging 16.1 yards per catch.

Williams was named to the NJCAA All-American 1st team, Midwest Football Conference (MFC) All League 1st team, Midwest Football Conference East Division 1st team, and to the Region IV All Region 1st team for the 2009 season.

Williams, of Chicago, is the first ever JJC football player to go on to play in the PAC 10 conference.
