Renaissance Center Open House April 3

The Joliet Junior College Renaissance Center will host its annual open house on Sunday, April 3, from 1 to 3 p.m. The historic building, which is located at 214 N. Ottawa St. in downtown Joliet, has a variety of rooms that can be used for weddings, receptions, bridal showers, family events, and more.

Designed in 1925 by the Chicago-based D.H. Burnham and Co., the Renaissance Center was originally built for the Joliet Chamber of Commerce and also was a locally acclaimed nightclub and restaurant facility, featuring big name entertainers like Louis Armstrong and Phyllis Diller.

Tours will be given by Susie Stockwell, the center’s wedding and event planner. Refreshments and hors d’oeuvres will be served.

Those interested in attending the open house should RSVP to Stockwell at (815) 280-1404 or email
