Support the Police Dept. Fundraising Campaign for the Annual Torch Run for Special Olympics

The JJC Police Department is participating in the 25th Annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics, the largest year-round fundraising campaign benefiting Special Olympics Illinois.

The Torch Run is an annual relay through the state in which thousands of law enforcement officers participate, carrying a torch—the Flame of Hope—nearly 1,500 miles through thousands of Illinois communities via 23 different routes to its final destination, the opening ceremonies of the Special Olympics Illinois Summer Games in June in Normal.

JJC Officer Randy Graves said there are many ways to support the campaign, including sponsorship of JJC officers who run in the race or by purchasing Torch Run merchandise which includes t-shirts, pins, and raffle tickets that can be picked up at the JJC Police Department office in G-1013. Officers will also have an information table with Torch Run merchandise at the upcoming 3rd Annual 5K Run/Walk on April 30.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run has raised more than $22.025 million since its inception in 1986.
