Incumbents May, O’Connell Secure Seats on the JJC Board

Incumbents Jeff May and Mike O’Connell were the top vote getters in a four-person race for two six-year terms on the Joliet Junior College Board of Trustees in the April 5 consolidated election.

May, of Minooka, has served on the board since 1999. O’Connell, of Joliet, was first appointed to serve the remainder of former Trustee Dick Dystup’s term after he passed away in 2009. O’Connell garnered the most votes with 32,834, while May received 26,485.

JJC has 468 precincts in Will, Grundy, Livingston, LaSalle, Cook, Kankakee, and Kendall Counties. Official election results will be released by April 26, after complete validation and counting of provisional ballots, absentee ballots and grace period ballots. O’Connell and May are expected to be seated sometime before the May board meeting.
