The Joliet Junior College (JJC) Chorale presents its 10th Annual Carols and Chocolate Concert on Sunday, Dec. 11, at 3 p.m. in the Fine Arts Theatre on the Main Campus, 1215 Houbolt Road in Joliet.
Following the concert, the audience will be treated to a complimentary buffet of chocolates donated by local businesses, including Barolo’s Ristorante, Dan’s Home Made Candy Shop, as well as by members of the Chorale.
The program, selected by conductor Philip Spencer, will feature “Shout for Joy: A Suite of Christmas Spirituals” by Robert DeCormier.  The concert will also include performances by student soloists and instrumentalists in addition to the 45-voice community choir.
A variety of carols and anthems will be performed, including “Funky Dreidl,” “O Nata Lux,” “I Wonder As I Wander,” and “I’ll be Home For Christmas,” sung to honor all American troops serving overseas.
In addition to the concert, there will be a special screening of the 1905 silent film “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas” with musical arrangement by Harry Simeone.
Tickets are available at the Fine Arts Theatre Box Office one hour prior to the concert.  Admission for general public is $5, $4 for JJC faculty and staff, senior citizens, and non-JJC students, and $2 for JJC students.
