Rep. McAsey to Host Resume Writing, Job Search Workshop at JJC

State Rep. Emily McAsey is partnering with the Joliet Junior College (JJC) Workforce Development to host a Plus 50 Resume Writing and Job Search Workshop to assist job seekers over 50.

The event is free of charge and will be held on Thursday, February 16, at 9 a.m. at the Joliet Junior College Romeoville Campus, 1125 West Romeo Road, Romeoville.

“With unemployment remaining stubbornly high, particularly among older workers, it is important to connect individuals over 50 with the tools they need to reenter the workforce,” McAsey said. “The JJC Plus 50 Workforce Center staff can help older residents overcome their unique employment challenges by showing them ways to highlight their skills to target the job they seek. Armed with this knowledge, we can help get these residents back to work.”

The trained professionals of the JJC Plus 50 Workforce Center will provide resume writing assistance, interview techniques and job search strategies to help older workers compete in today’s job market. Attendees will learn how to make a strong, positive impression with prospective employers, giving them the best chance for success.

For more information or to RSVP for the workshop, contact McAsey’s full-time constituent service office at (815) 372-0085.
