JJC Hosts Annual Wellness and Resource Fair April 11

The JJC Office of Student Activities and Holistic Wellness will host its annual Wellness and Resource Fair on Wednesday, April 11, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Main Campus, 1215 Houbolt Road in Joliet.
Community members will have the opportunity to meet with representatives from over 25 health agencies and local businesses. The event will take place on the D-Concourse and the college’s Center Bridge.
There will be a variety of services offered at the fair, said JJC Coordinator of Holistic Wellness Amy Sims. Along with agency information and medical resources, there will be fitness screenings by the JJC Fitness Center, free messages and giveaways.
“This is an amazing opportunity for JJC students and community members to explore ways in which they can improve the health of their families and themselves,” said Sims. “Our community is filled with agencies and local businesses who strive to improve the lives of those they serve.”
In addition to the fair, other wellness sessions will be held throughout the week:
  • “Stress and Anxiety,” a session hosted by Sherri Morrow, JJC counselor, on Tuesday, April 10, from noon to 1 p.m. in room A-1002.
  • “Asking For It,” a film and discussion presented by Samantha Gehrig, Guardian Angel Community Service, on Tuesday, April 10 from 1 to 3 p.m. on the Center Bridge.
  • “Power of Mindfulness,” a presentation by Eric Dutt, JJC counselor, on Thursday, April 12, from noon to 1 p.m. in room A-1002.
