JJC Juried Art Exhibition Runs Through May 11

The Joliet Junior College (JJC) Art Students’ 2012 Juried Exhibition is open now and will run through May 11 in the Laura A. Sprague Art Gallery on the Main Campus, 1215 Houbolt Road in Joliet.

The exhibit features 49 works from 30 JJC students in mediums ranging from stoneware and mixed media to charcoal and watercolor.
 
This year’s juror, Michael Hart, faculty member at Governors State University, selected the works from 160 submissions.
 
 
In addition to the exhibit, a public Juror’s Critique and Presentation of Awards will be held in the JJC Fine Arts Theatre on Thursday, May 3 at 7:30 p.m. A reception will immediately follow the ceremony.
 
JJC students who were featured in the exhibit are as follows:
Simone Rawski of Bolingbrook; Randolf Brucher of Channahon; Kate Muller of Dwight; Kyle Jenson and Rachel Long, both of Elwood; Claire McCauley of Frankfort; Catherine Mustari of Homer Glen; and Nicole Alberico, Ruben Calderon, Jessica Cuevas, Emily Gibson, Lex Gordon, Matt Harmon, Rodrigo Montoya, Marianne Nelson, Nhu-Quynh Nguyen, Luis Rodriguez, Stephanie Teta, all of Joliet.
 
Elizabeth Chatman of Lockport; Kristin Adamkiewicz of Minooka; Kevin Gamboa of Mokena; Paris Ricketts of New Lenox; Laurence Lucas, Tami Rounsaville, Allison Stevens, Tatiana Diaz, all of Plainfield; Dan J. Martinez of Rockdale; Cassidy Bradford and Anastasiya Dankova, both of Shorewood; and Cory Bush of Wilmington.
