JJC Guitar and Percussion Ensembles Spring Concert May 15

The Joliet Junior College (JJC) Guitar and Percussion Ensembles Spring Concert is Tuesday, May 15, at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Theatre on the Main Campus, 1215 Houbolt Road in Joliet.
The concert will open with the Guitar Ensemble under the direction of Steve Jacobson. Selections will include compositions by Olivier Bensa, Alfonso Montes, Ralph Towner and others.
The ensemble includes: Randle Campbell of Frankfort; Sean Hall of Lockport; Jacquelyn Huntley and Bradley Katula of New Lenox; Nicholas Kinman of Plainfield; John Juhant and Christopher Mendez of Joliet; and Jacob Zuklic of Homer Glen.
The JJC Percussion, under the direction of Adam Cowger, will feature guest artist Ruben Alvarez, a world-renowned Latin percussionist from Chicago. The ensemble will perform works by J. S. Bach, Nathan Daughtrey, Claude Debussy, Paquito D’ Rivera, Daniel Levitan and Frank Malable.
The ensemble includes: Michael Amos, Jimmy Coggins, Jim Fitzgerald, Elisa Robinson, and Robert Zupancic of Joliet; Nathan Doyle and Jason Schmidt of New Lenox; William Brown of Channahon; Dana Goodman of Romeoville; and Daniel May of Frankfort.
Admission for general public is $5, $4 for senior citizens, non-JJC students, JJC faculty and staff and $2 for JJC students and children.
