JJC Officers Participate in Cop on a Rooftop June 1

Six JJC police officers will stake out a Dunkin’ Donuts rooftop on Friday, June 1, as part of the annual Cop on a Rooftop fundraiser.

The event, which will take place at the Dunkin’ Donuts at 1350 Houbolt Road in Joliet, from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m., will raise donations for the Law Enforcement Torch Run to benefit Special Olympics.

According to the Special Olympics Illinois website, last year’s record-breaking event raised more than $216,000 at 114 different locations throughout the state.
“Last year’s event was very successful—the generosity of our college family and the local community was outstanding, more than we ever thought possible,” said JJC Police Officer Randy Graves. “We were pleasantly surprised by how many JJC faculty and staff came out to the event even though it was on a Friday when the college is closed.”

Everyone who visits a Cop on Rooftop store and makes a donation to the Torch Run will receive a free donut. People who donate at least $10 will also receive a Law Enforcement Torch Run travel mug and coupon for free coffee.

There will also be a table with Law Enforcement Torch Run merchandise including hats, t-shirts, pins, and raffle tickets to enter to win a motorcycle.
