JJC Police Department to Participate in Crime Stoppers 5K event Oct. 27

The Joliet Junior College Police Department (JJCPD), along with other advocates, will sponsor the Crime Stoppers Goblin Gallop 5K Run and Walk on Saturday, Oct. 27 at 9 a.m. at the Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet.JJC Police Department to Participate in Crime Stoppers 5K event Oct. 27

The event will benefit the Crime Stoppers of Will County. Crime Stoppers is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to reducing crime by providing the public with a means to anonymously contact law enforcement with information on crimes or suspects.

“Many crimes go unsolved because of the lack of information and because the public is afraid to come forward with valuable information. Crime Stoppers bridges that gap,” said JJCPD Sgt. Tom Glisson.

This is the first year the JJCPD will be participating in the event.

“I hope to make a team from JJC every year from here on out to participate in this event,” said Glisson. “We are asking the entire JJC community to support the Goblin Gallop 5K Run and Walk for Crime Stoppers.”

The event is open to the community. Cost per person is $35. People who are interested can register at http://www.crimestoppersofwillcounty.org/goblin_5k_run_walk.htm

For more information about joining the JJC team, contact JJCPD Sgt. Tom Glisson at 815-685-6009 or thglisso@jjc.edu.
