JJC Workforce Development and Partners Host Job Fair Aug. 29

Joliet Junior College (JJC) Workforce Development, along with Will County and the Will County Center for Economic Development, is hosting the Jobs4Success 2012 Job Fair on Wednesday, Aug. 29 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the JJC Renaissance Center, 214 N. Ottawa St. in Joliet.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will provide job seekers with the opportunity to network with local employers. There are 44 employers scheduled to attend the event, said Paige Vanderhyden, director of workforce development, though she expects that number to grow.

“The job fair will allow job seekers to meet face-to-face with a variety of employers looking to hire. It will reduce the need to travel from business to business to seek employment opportunities,” said Vanderhyden.

Job seekers must have a resume to attend the event and should come dressed ready for on-the-spot interviews.

In preparation for the job fair, job seekers are invited to attend a “Preparing for a Job Fair” workshop that will be held Aug. 21 at 3 p.m. and Aug. 23 at 10:30 a.m. at JJC’s City Center Campus.

“Job seekers who attend the ‘Preparing for a Job Fair’ workshop will have an advantage when meeting with potential employers,” said Vanderhyden.

Registration to attend the pre-job fair event is not required and walk-ins are welcomed.
