Musica Viva Recital Sept. 16 Featuring Adjunct Professor Richard Deal

The Joliet Junior College (JJC) Fine Arts Department’s Musica Viva Series will present a free recital on Sunday, Sept. 16, at 3 p.m. in the Fine Arts Theatre on the Main Campus, 1215 Houbolt Road in Joliet.Musica Viva Recital Sept. 16 Featuring Adjunct Professor Richard Deal
 
The recital will feature pianist G. Richard Deal, JJC adjunct professor, performing music of Chopin, Brahms and Beethoven.
 
Deal is from the Chicago area and has performed over 2,600 sacred and classical piano concerts in North America, Europe, Asia and South America. He has appeared in concert at the Hong Kong Cultural Center in Hong Kong and at Chicago’s Orchestra Hall.
 
He has also participated in several international piano competitions including the Tchaikovsky Piano Competition in Moscow. He arranges his own sacred works for piano and has released six professional recordings.
 
Deal studied with the eminent pianist William Browning and French pianist Madame Jeanne Darre. He received a bachelor’s degree from the American Conservatory of Music and a master’s degree from the Sherwood Conservatory of Music. He also received an advanced studies diploma from the Moody Bible Institute of Chicago.
