Guitar and Percussion Ensembles Winter Concert Dec. 11

The Joliet Junior College Guitar and Percussion Ensembles will present their Winter Concert on Tuesday, Dec. 11 at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Theatre on Main Campus, 1215 Houbolt Road in Joliet.
 
The concert will open with the Guitar Ensemble under the direction of Steve Jacobson. The ensemble includes: Evan Borkstrom and Randle Campbell of Frankfort; Connor Brauer and Nicholas Kinman of Plainfield; Sean Hall of Lockport; John Juhant and Zachary Volling of Joliet; Nicholas Kemp-Bystrzycki of New Lenox; Nicholas Koss of Shorewood; and Timothy Podgorny of Manhattan.
Selections will include compositions by Luc Levesque, Erik Satie, Mason Williams and others.
 
The Percussion Ensemble, under the direction of Adam Cowger, will be performing works by Brubeck, Corea, Ford, Gottry, Levitan, and Stamp. The performance will feature guest artist Michael Mixtacki, renowned Latin percussionist and visiting instructor of percussion at Northern Illinois University.
 
Members of the ensemble include: Michael Amos, Jimmy Coggins, Jim Fitzgerald, and Elisa Robinson of Joliet; Nathan Doyle and Tyler Peck of New Lenox; Michael Faloona and Daniel May of Frankfort; Dana Goodman of Romeoville; Nicholas Hart of Pontiac; Nicholas Pappas of Plainfield; Trevor Stetzel of Peotone; Sarah Webb of Crest Hill; and Steven Cowger of Grand Forks, North Dakota.
 
Admission is $5 for general public; $4 for senior citizens, non-JJC students, JJC faculty and staff; and $2 for JJC students and children.
