Nine Candidates in 2013 Board of Trustees Election

As of Jan. 7, there are nine candidates on the ballot for the April 13 JJC trustee consolidated election.
 
The period to file an objection regarding a candidate’s petition to run ends Jan. 8. The elections will be held on Tuesday, April 9.
 
The candidates are: Andrew Mihelich, Joliet; Tina Markley, Joliet; Brad Baber, Joliet; Jesse Maggitt, Plainfield; Theresa Berkey, New Lenox; Douglas Muir, Joliet; Daniel O’Connell, Joliet; Diane Harris, Joliet; and Barbara Adams, Joliet. Candidates are listed here in the order their names will appear on the ballot.

This year, three terms are up for election: the positions of Barbara DeLaney, Andy Mihelich and Dan O’Connell.
 
JJC is directly governed by a seven-member Board of Trustees, all of whom are elected from within the district for at-large, staggered, six-year terms. A student representative, elected annually by the student body, is a non-voting member of the board.
