JJC Hosts Ellucian Illinois Conference May 21

JJC employees are invited to attend the ellucian IL conference on Tuesday, May 21, hosted by the JJC IT Department. The conference is for Illinois institutions that run administrative software from ellucian, and is designed to be a fun event, filled with learning and networking opportunities with higher education peers. It will be held in the Health Professions Center (U-Building).
Ellucian is a company that offers software and technology solutions, like Colleague and Banner, for higher education institutions and is a relatively new company that came out of the merger of Datatel and Sungard Higher Ed.
According to Director of Application Support Services Otto Stuckmaier, the conference fills a need for networking and sharing information about ellucian’s products, and since many people cannot attend a national conference, a smaller, regional conference is more feasible.
“We’re very happy to have ellucian IL here this year,” said Stuckmaier. “Our new facilities will really make this a great venue. We are really proud to be showing off the great things JJC has to offer.”
Presentations at the conference will be given by vendors, visiting schools and JJC employees, including the following:
– Ellucian Mobile: Supporting Your Anytime, Anywhere Digital Campus
– Admission/Recruitment Roundtable
– Ellucian Student Success Roadmap
– APPLE Classroom at JJC
– Auto Awarding of Degrees
– Transitioning to the Electronic Processing of Financial Aid
Stuckmaier is expecting more than 300 attendees from 63 institutions, several vendors and 54 sessions led by more than 60 presenters. The conference will have a Blues Brothers theme, and all JJC IT staff at the event will be wearing black hats, sunglasses, and black shirts to look like Jake and Elwood Blues.
