Joliet Junior College now has a donor recognition wall, located on the first floor of the Campus Center, at 1215 Houbolt Road in Joliet. The shiny “In Recognition” plaque, decorated with vibrant swirls and colors to match the hallway, has been in the works since 2010, and is located on the wall next to the main stairway. It was installed on Aug. 12.
“It’s a pretty cool thing,” said Kristi Mulvey, executive director of Resource Development. “It’s inexpensive to update, it looks like the names are etched in the glass. It’s neat for everybody that gives to see their name up there.”
Anyone who donates $100 or more – whether it’s an employee, alumnus, or corporate sponsor – will have their name displayed on the “In Recognition” plaque.
Employees can donate to JJC by contacting Mulvey at email@example.com or by phone at 815-280-2353. They can choose to donate an amount that will be deducted from their paychecks or they can bring in cash or check donations made out to the JJC Foundation. Employees should bring donations to the Resource Development office, located on the third floor of the Campus Center.
Donors can also earmark their gifts by deciding where the money goes. They can choose to contribute to a scholarship, a specific program or department, campus equipment, or another JJC interest.
Mulvey said the list of donors would be updated every summer on a yearly basis.
