Joliet Junior College students are exclusively invited to a part-time seasonal job fair on Friday, Sept. 20 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the C-Concourse on the Main Campus at 1215 Houbolt Road in Joliet. This job fair is only available to current JJC students, and will feature more than 35 participating area employers.
Students planning to attend should bring copies of their resume and dress professionally.
“The part-time seasonal job fair is always a popular and very successful fall event for JJC students,” said Bridget Larkin-Beene, director of JJC’s Career Services Center. “Countless students have reported that they are now working because of a connection they made at the job fair.”
To prepare for the job fair, students can get their resume critiqued at the Career Services Center. Students can make an appointment to do this at any time by calling the center at 815-280-2756 or e-mailing email@example.com, or they can stop by during walk-in hours Monday, Sept. 16 – Thursday, Sept. 19 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. The Career Services Center is located in the Campus Center, A-1175.
Larkin-Beene said the part-time seasonal job fair has been extremely successful in recent years – with a 74 percent increase of participating employers last year. She hopes students will take advantage of the opportunity.
A few participating job fair employers include: First Choice Temporary Service, Inc.; Alliance Communications WPNA 1490am radio; ASM/Integrated Marketing Services; Fastenal; Grand Prairie Transit; Greater Area Joliet YMCA; Hollywood Casino Joliet; Johnstone Supply Incorporated; Michaels; Old Plank Trail Community Bank; Senior Star at Weber Place; Standard Bank and Trust Co.; The Brickman Group; and Tilted Kilt.
