Congressman Foster, Concord Coalition Host Federal Deficit Budget Exercise at JJC Nov. 4

Congressman Bill Foster and the non-partisan Concord Coalition invite District 11 residents to an interactive budget exercise to address federal budget concerns on Monday, Nov. 4, 9-11 a.m. in the U-Building Auditorium on JJC’s Main Campus, 1215 Houbolt Road in Joliet.

Local officials, business leaders, professionals, students, seniors and all members of the public are encouraged to attend.

Participants will assume the roles of members of Congress and work in small groups to put forth their policy recommendations for how to reduce projected deficits over the coming years and put America on a more sound fiscal path.  This will involve difficult discussions and decisions about domestic and defense spending, entitlement reform, and tax policies.

With this event, Congressman Foster hopes to engage with constituents on a range of fiscal issues, including the current state of the economy, the national debt and possible strategies for improving the nation’s fiscal outlook.

“I’m very pleased to have this opportunity to hear from constituents and talk about the process of creating and balancing the federal budget,” said Foster. “As we work to find a long-term budget solution in Congress, I look forward to having a dialogue about our priorities for our community and our country.”

This event is free, but space is limited. For more information or to RSVP, please call Congressman Foster’s district office at (815) 280-5876 or (630) 585-7672.
