The Joliet Junior College Renaissance Center, located at 214 N. Ottawa St. in Joliet, made donations to the Blessing Bench Food Bank in Joliet and Joliet’s Morning Star Mission this November.
Donations consisted of good quality leftover food from banquets. The JJC Renaissance Center kitchen staff put the food together, and representatives from both organizations stopped by to pick up the orders that they then delivered to those in need.
Susan Stockwell, JJC Renaissance Center supervisor, said they started preparing for these donations in October.
“It is important for anyone to donate to shelters, churches, or any organization that is in need of daily assistance,” Stockwell said. “We should help one another to make the world a better place. JJC is a community college that believes in helping others.”
The JJC Renaissance Center is a banquet facility where JJC culinary students learn on-the-job training and skills. It hosts banquets for numerous occasions, such as weddings, high school reunions and proms, anniversary parties, and more.
