Community members are invited to a special luncheon in honor of Women’s History Month on Thursday, March 20 featuring Marianne Cooper, Ph.D., lead researcher for the best-selling book, “Lean In: Women, Work and the Will to Lead.” The luncheon will be held at 11:30 a.m. at the Joliet Junior College Main Campus U-Building Auditorium, 1215 Houbolt Road in Joliet; the cost is $22 per person, and attendees can register and reserve their spot at http://tinyurl.com/leanin-event. Seating is limited, so attendees are encouraged to reserve spots soon.
In her presentation, Cooper will discuss her research for “Lean In” as well as her forthcoming book, “Cut Adrift: Families in Insecure Times.” In addition to being a writer and researcher, she is also a sociologist for Gender Studies at Stanford University and is a core team member of the Clayman Institute’s Voice and Influence program. Cooper received her Ph.D. in sociology from the University of California, Berkeley.
