Community members are invited to the college’s 12th annual Volunteer Fair on Wednesday, Oct. 8 at the Main Campus, 1215 Houbolt Road in Joliet. The fair, which will include a mix of environmental, personal, youth, senior citizen, and community volunteer organizations, will take place in the C-Concourse from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Those attending should park in JJC’s South Lot 5 and 6.
Attendees don’t have to bring anything to the fair, but they should keep in mind that if they want to become a volunteer, some organizations have an application or interviewing process, and others do background checks.
Amy Sims, coordinator of student activities and holistic wellness, said she hopes students and others will take advantage of the Volunteer Fair because by being a part of a community organization, they can personally and professionally develop opportunities.
