Students Invited to JJC’s First Major Exploration Fair Nov. 5

Students are invited to attend JJC’s first Major Exploration Fair on Wednesday, Nov. 5 from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the lower level of J-Building on the Main Campus.

The Major Exploration Fair will give undecided students an opportunity to start thinking about what they need to do to choose a major, complete their degree at JJC, and where they may transfer to pursue a bachelor’s degree.

At the fair, more than 40 tables will be set up featuring JJC departments and programs. Information about classes required to complete a major, careers that major can lead to, and salary information will be available for students.

More than 20 transfer schools will also be at the fair so that students can compare program offerings so that they can think about which school would be best for them to transfer to after JJC. JJC’s Career Services Center, Transfer Office, and Counseling Department will have tables at the fair and counselors will be available to answer degree completion questions.

Students will also have an opportunity to speak with JJC alumni about their experience as a student, life after completing a degree or certificate, and their career path.

For more information about the fair, contact JJC Transfer Specialist Cheryl Turrise at cturrise@jjc.edu or 815-280-2923 or Director of Career Services Bridgett Larkin Beene at blarkin@jjc.edu or 815-280-2756.
