JJC Hosts Holiday, Winter Concerts in December

The Joliet Junior College Fine Arts Department will present five winter concerts this December.  The public is invited to celebrate the sounds of the season with JJC’s community and student music groups, including the Jazz Band, Community Band, JJC Chorale, JJC Chamber Singers, and more.

JJC Jazz Band

Jazz Band Winter Concert
Friday, Dec. 5 at  7:30 p.m.
Fine Arts Theatre
Cost: $5 for adults; $4 for senior citizens and non-JJC students; and $2 for JJC students.

JJC Community Band

Community Band Winter Concert
Sunday, Dec. 7 at 3 p.m.
Fine Arts Theatre
Cost: $5 for adults; $4 for JJC faculty and staff, non-JJC students, and senior citizens; and $2 for JJC students

The JJC Community Band is a symphonic, 100-member ensemble made up of local residents, JJC students, and faculty. This concert is under the direction of JJC Music Coordinator and Director of Bands Charles Morgan. To read more, click here.

 

 

JJC's MadriGala

MadriGala 2014: “Something Olde, Something Yule”
Friday, Dec. 12 at 7:30 p.m.
Fine Arts Theatre
Cost: $12 per person

This festive event will feature merry madrigals and carols, pageantry, dance, and humor performed by the JJC Chamber Singers, JJC Brass Quintet, and JJC Jesters. The MadriGala staff includes Musical Director of MadriGala and Director of Choral and Vocal Music Philip Spencer; Director of Bands and JJC Music Coordinator Charles Morgan; and JJC Stage Manager and Drama Director Nicki Blowers. To read more, click here.

 

 

Carols and Chocolates Concert

Carols and Chocolate
Sunday, Dec. 14 at 3 p.m.
Fine Arts Theatre
Cost: $5 for adults; $4 for senior citizens and non-JJC students; and $2 for JJC students

JJC Conductor and Fine Arts Professor Philip Spencer will lead this concert, which will also feature the JJC Brass Quintet, conducted by Director of Bands Charles Morgan. Chocolate desserts will be offered to audience members at this concert. To read more, click here.

Guitar and Percussion Ensembles Concert
Tuesday, Dec. 16 at 7:30 p.m.
Fine Arts Theatre
Cost:  $5 for adults; $4 for senior citizens and non-JJC students; and $2 for JJC students

Guitar and percussion students will treat audiences to musical numbers in this concert. JJC instructor Adam Roth will lead the guitar ensemble and JJC instructor Adam Cowger will lead the percussion ensemble. For more information, click here.
