Prospective college students and their families can visit Joliet Junior College, explore the school’s programs, and learn more about financial aid during “Discover JJC” on Saturday, March 14 from 9 a.m. to noon on the Main Campus, 1215 Houbolt Road in Joliet.
There will be more than 100 programs for prospective students and their families to see. Visitors should enter through the Campus Center (A-Building) so they can receive a map of the college. The map will help guide attendees through the Main Campus and show them where each program is located so that they can meet professors, ask questions, and visit classrooms.
In addition to programs, prospective students can also visit JJC resource centers – places where students can get help in order to achieve their goals at JJC. Resource centers include the Academic Skills Center, Career Services, Counseling, Financial Aid, the Library, the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs, the Office of Student Activities, the Honors Program, and more.
For those who want to learn about financial aid and other college information, JJC will offer two presentations at Discover JJC, each beginning at 9:15 a.m., 10:15 a.m., and 11:15 a.m.:
- Getting Started at JJC: Information about applying for admission, ACT placement, and other requirements. Rooms U-1022 and U-1024
- Paying for College: Information about financial aid. Room U-1026
Prospective students can also enter a drawing to win an iPod or a $50 gift certificate to the JJC Bookstore at Discover JJC.
