JJC Board Welcomes New Trustees, Selects New Executive Officers

New JJC Trustee Maureen Broderick

New JJC trustee Maureen Broderick of New Lenox and new student trustee Saleh Ruman of Joliet, as well as returning trustee Bob Wunderlich of Joliet, were sworn in at the May 5 JJC Board of Trustees meeting. Broderick and Wunderlich, who are beginning six-year terms on the board, were the winners of the April 7 election, with 13,264 and 21,114 votes respectively. The election results were official as of April 28. 

Outgoing trustee Sue Klen, who has served on the JJC Board since 2009, and outgoing student trustee Brian Herrera were honored with plaques by Board Chairman Andy Mihelich, who thanked them for their service.

Following the seating of the new board members, the board nominated and voted for new executive officer positions. Trustee Jeff May was elected chair, Trustee Tina Markley was elected vice chair, and Trustee Maureen Broderick was elected secretary.
