JJC Chef and Alum Andy Chlebana Wins Food Network Competition

Andy Chlebana, a JJC culinary arts professor and alumnus of the college, won the title of Spring Baking Champion and $50,000 after competing in Food Network’s Spring Baking Championship.

Chlebana was one of eight contestants on the six-week show, which featured different weekly baking challenges, concluding with one contestant being eliminated each week. Chlebana was one of three contestants in the final round, and ultimately won the challenge by creating a wedding cake that the judges found superior to the others.

Chlebana previously appeared on Food Network in 2011, competing in a sugar challenge, which he also won by creating a fashionable dress made entirely of sugar.
