The community is welcome to attend Joliet Junior College’s annual Thanksgiving Buffet, hosted by Food Services, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 12 in the Campus Center Cafeteria on the Main Campus, 1215 Houbolt Road in Joliet. The public is invited to attend, and the cost is $12 per person. Reserved parking and shuttle service for guests will be provided from South Parking Lot 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The buffet menu includes:
- Roasted Butternut Squash Soup
- Carved Honey-Glazed Turkey with Giblet Gravy
- Cornbread and Sage Dressing
- Mashed Potatoes
- Candied Sweet Potatoes
- Green Bean and Mushroom Casserole
- Homemade Cranberry Sauce
- Apple and Walnut Salad
- Jell-O Salads
- Assorted Dinner Rolls
- Pecan, Pumpkin and Apple Pies
- Coffee, Tea and Lemonade
Reservations are encouraged but are not required. Guests can make reservations by calling 815-280-2832.
In addition to the buffet, guests are also invited to Holiday Happenings at the JJC Bookstore between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., where they can sample gourmet food. The Bookstore will have many items on sale that day, including holiday gifts, gift baskets, clothing, backpacks and gourmet food. Guests will also have a chance to win several door prizes and participate in a toy wagon raffle.
Those who attend can also participate in the Bookstore’s hat, mitten and scarf drive by dropping off any new or gently used hats, mittens, gloves or scarves.
