Get Involved with Your Community at JJC’s Volunteer Fair Oct. 21

Those who would like to give back to their communities or join a civic organization are invited to a volunteer fair on Wednesday, Oct. 21 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Joliet Junior College’s Main Campus at 1215 Houbolt Road in Joliet. The fair will take place in JJC’s C and D Concourse.

Representatives from local community agencies will be available to talk to attendees about their organizations at the fair and answer questions. Attendees don’t have to bring anything to the fair, but they should keep in mind that some organizations have an application or interviewing process, and others do background checks.

Amy Sims, JJC’s coordinator of student activities and holistic wellness, said she hopes students and others take advantage of the fair not only because of the personal benefits of giving back, but they can use the opportunity to network and develop themselves professionally.

For more information about the fair contact Sims at 815-280-2202 or asims@jjc.edu.
