Joliet Junior College will now offer an A.A.S degree and a certificate of achievement in the field of Human Services.
The new program, which is expected to be available in fall 2016 through the Social and Behavioral Sciences Department, will provide students the tools they need to work in social and human services.
The Human Services A.A.S. degree will provide entry-level training for students who are pursuing employment in the Human Services industry, as well as a foundation for students who will go on to complete a bachelor’s degree in social work, sociology, psychology, counseling, gerontology, or other related majors. Students in this program will be prepared for careers as social and human service assistants, case managers, intake specialists, and other positions.
The certificate of achievement is designed to provide introductory knowledge or career mobility for those interested in the industry. By earning a credential in Human Services, an individual can greatly increase their skill sets.
