Winter Concert Featuring JJC’s Guitar and Percussion Ensembles Set for Dec. 15

The Joliet Junior College Fine Arts Department will present a combined winter concert featuring both the college’s guitar and percussion ensembles on Tuesday, Dec. 15 at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Theatre located on the college’s Main Campus at 1215 Houbolt Road in Joliet.

The concert will open with the guitar ensemble, under the direction of Adam Roth. Selections will include compositions by George Gershwin, Claude Debussy, Ferdinando Carulli, and John Dowland.

The JJC percussion ensemble, under the direction of Adam Cowger, will perform the music of Rosauro, Saint Saens, Bisell, Lipner, Maneiri, and more.

Many musical styles will be featured including classical, contemporary, jazz, Latin and world percussion. JJC Professor Rich Moore will be featured as a guest saxophonist with the ensembles.

Admission is $5 for the general public; $4 for senior citizens, non-JJC students, JJC faculty and staff; and $2 for JJC students and children.
