Parents and students who need help completing the FAFSA can attend one of Joliet Junior College’s FAFSA and scholarship workshops from February through April this year. All local parents and students can attend for free, regardless of what school they plan to attend in the fall. Habrá alguien que hable español para asistir y contestar cualquier pregunta.
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form is required to apply for any type of government financial aid, including Pell grants and direct student loans, which students and parents can learn more about during the workshops.
In addition to the FAFSA, each workshop will include information about the hundreds of scholarships available to JJC students for the 2016-2017 school year. A JJC ID is required to apply for scholarships. The deadline to apply for most JJC scholarships is April 1.
In 2015, JJC students received a total of $848,078 in scholarship funds, and in fiscal year 2014-2015, the financial aid office disbursed nearly $22 million in grants and loans to students.
To file a 2016-2017 FAFSA at the workshops, please bring copies of the following:
- All 2015 federal income tax forms
- Copies of all W-2s (student and parents) or other income information
