Mayor O’Dekirk to give Joliet State of the City Presentation to JJC Students, Employees; Public Invited

The Mayor of Joliet Bob O’Dekirk will give a State of the City presentation on Wednesday, Feb. 24, at noon in the U-Building Auditorium on the Joliet Junior College Main Campus, 1215 Houbolt Road in Joliet. JJC employees, students, and the public are invited to attend.

Mayor O’Dekirk will provide city updates, success stories, and his vision for the city’s future as well as take questions after the program, which has been coordinated by the college’s Business Department.

“We believe that this presentation is part of our college mission by providing a venue for civic engagement and is a crucial element to the success of our students and to the future of our community,” Bill O’Connor, JJC Business Department chairman, said.

The City of Joliet is the largest community in the college’s district, which covers 1,442 square miles and serves parts of seven counties including Will, Grundy, Kendall, LaSalle, Kankakee, Livingston, and Cook Counties.
