Job seekers across the community are invited to the 17th annual Joliet Regional Job Fair on Friday, April 8 from 1 to 4 p.m. in the J-Building at the Joliet Junior College Main Campus, 1215 Houbolt Road in Joliet. This event is free and open to the public, although a resume is required to attend.
Those planning to attend should dress professionally, bring several copies of their resume, and review the websites of the employers they are interested in before the fair.
Last year’s job fair was successful and drew a crowd of nearly 500 people, which resulted in not only job and interview opportunities for attendees, but also networking opportunities.
This year’s fair will include employers looking for part-time, full-time, entry level and experienced candidates.
A few of the employers at this year’s job fair will include Amazon, ATI Physical Therapy, CAT Contracting, Diageo, Exelon, Joliet Bank & Trust, Joliet Staffing, Joliet Township High School, Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers, NAPA Auto Parts, Sears Logistics Services, Securitas Security Services, TCF Bank, Home Depot, The Reserves Network, Verizon Wireless, W.W. Grainger, and more. For a complete listing, visit www.jjc.edu/jobfair.
“This is a great opportunity for job seekers to connect with employers from a variety of industries,” said Bridgett Larkin-Beene, JJC Director of Career Services. “We always hear about the great experiences our job seekers have when they attend the fair. Whether it’s networking with a professional or learning about the different opportunities we have in our community, job seekers tend to leave the fair feeling positive.”
Resume assistance is available for any job seeker in need. JJC students can receive assistance from Career Services and Will County residents can receive assistance through Workforce Services of Will County’s Mobile Workforce Center and Job Search Workshops. Grundy County residents can receive assistance through Grundy Workforce Services and resume workshops.
On the day of the fair, JJC Career Services will host a brief presentation open to the public at 12:30 p.m. in the JJC Theatre, which will include tips about how to navigate a job fair and make great first impressions.
