The PepsiCo recycling Dream Machines on JJC’s Main Campus will no longer be available as of May 27, 2016. The program is being discontinued by PepsiCo. Rewards earned through the program will be valid until Dec. 31, 2016.
Standard recycling receptacles are still available in numerous places throughout the Main Campus.
According to PepsiCo, the machines are being removed because recycling efforts on college campuses are evolving, and the company is looking into alternative recycling programs.
The Dream Machines are currently located in the cafeteria in A-Building, and in the café on the main level of J-Building.
Last year, JJC won second place in the nation and $15,000 in the PepsiCo Campus Recycling Challenge for recycling a total of 36,130 beverage containers from October 2014 to March 2015 at the school’s Dream Machines, equaling 1,974 pounds.
