Fall semester is right around the corner at Joliet Junior College, and current students as well as those looking to start their college education are encouraged to register for classes before fall semester begins on Monday, Aug. 22.
For students with an undecided major or those looking to improve their success skills, three courses offered by the JJC Counseling Department are suggested: Career & Lifestyle Planning (COUN-110), College Success (COUN-101), and College Preparation and Study Skills (COUN-085). These courses are designed to help students successfully transition from high school to college and develop strategies that can help them be successful academically, personally and professionally. These courses may also apply to degree completion as well as transfer to a four-year-college.
The Career & Lifestyle Planning (COUN-110) course guides students as they learn more about themselves and sustainable career path options, including opportunities to develop an effective resume and cover letter and interview techniques.
The other two courses (COUN-101 and COUN-085) focus on topics such as study strategies, test-taking strategies, stress management, time management and overall wellness.
