Open to district residents; registration required
Joliet Junior College will host its first-ever State of the College event on Thursday, Aug. 11. As JJC celebrates its 115th anniversary this year, college trustees and the leadership team want to share information with the college’s district and external partners about the college’s progress and future vision. JJC began in 1901 with six students; today, the college welcomes 35,000 students annually in both credit and non-credit courses.
The event will begin with remarks by Board Chairman Bob Wunderlich, and will culminate with a presentation by Interim President Dr. Judy Mitchell. Dr. Mitchell will touch on a variety of topics, including the college’s 2016-2019 Strategic Plan, the FY17 budget, new programs, and significant partnerships with business and industry.
This event is free and open to the public. It will be held in the U-Building Auditorium on the Main Campus, 1215 Houbolt Road in Joliet. The event begins at 7:30 a.m. with check-in, networking, and a light breakfast buffet. The program will begin promptly at 8 a.m.
