Everyone is invited to begin by attending the women’s basketball game, which will start at 5 p.m.; the special recognition of veterans will be held at 6:30 p.m.; and the men’s basketball game will start at 7 p.m.

Veterans (with military ID) and their families who attend will have free admission to both games, as well as access to a special hospitality room and refreshments.

This event is a partnership between the JJC athletic department and veterans office and Troop Dreams, a non-profit organization dedicated to making the wishes and dreams of military families come true.

“The athletic department is honored to host this event and recognize the service and dedication of our military veterans and their families,” said JJC Athletic Director Wayne King. “We encourage all of our community members – within JJC and all our local cities – to come out this great event and show your veterans how much they are appreciated.”

The veterans office is selling American flags and Troop Dreams towels for $5. Additionally, 50% of the admission gate fee for the basketball games and all flag/towel sales will be donated directly to the Troop Dreams organization. Donations will also be taken on game day.

Those planning to attend should RSVP to Stephanie Kneip at or (815) 280-2431.
