Community members are invited to come see the Joliet Junior College men’s and women’s basketball team play in the A.A. Wills Gymnasium for the final time on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 1 p.m. (women’s team) and 3 p.m. (men’s team) against the College of DuPage.
In between the women’s and men’s game, the athletic department will honor former JJC men’s and women’s basketball players and coaches in a special ceremony, which begins at 2:30 p.m.
There will also be a brief reading on the history of A.A. Wills Gymnasium as well as an acknowledgement of head men’s basketball coach Joe Kuhn for his upcoming induction into the NJCAA Men’s Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame in April 2017.
“We’re going to try to rally as many alumni players, men and women, former coaches that are still close by to come by that day and we’ll do a little ceremony for Joe,” said JJC Athletic Director Wayne King. “We will be moving over to the new fieldhouse after this, so hopefully that day will be a nice day to get people together.”
All JJC employees and current students must bring their JJC ID to gain free admission at the gate.
All JJC alumni/former basketball players/coaches planning to attend the event will need to RSVP to Stephanie Kneip at email@example.com.
