JJC’s Musica Viva Concert Series Presents: Picosa, Jan. 22

Kicking off the 2017 Spring Musica Viva concert series, The Joliet Junior College Fine Arts Department presents a delightful performance from the musical group Picosa on Sunday, Jan. 22 at 3 p.m. in the JJC Fine Arts Theatre, located on the Main Campus, 1215 Houbolt Road in Joliet. Picosa is a Chicago-based mixed chamber ensemble known for its signature symphonic sound and virtuosity.  From baroque to contemporary, this ensemble’s unique approach to programming presents celebrated masterworks from across the centuries and around the globe.

Since its inception, Picosa has performed at various concerts and workshops throughout the Chicagoland area including the Thirsty Ears Festival, the Ear Taxi Festival, the Chicago Cultural Center and PianoForte Chicago.

The Joliet Junior College Musica Viva Concert series has provided excellent musical offerings to the college and community for many years, always free-of-charge. Typically held at 3 p.m. on Sunday afternoons during the fall and spring semesters at JJC’s Main Campus, the series has featured outstanding national and international guest artists, JJC faculty and JJC alumni.
