The community is invited to several showings of the Joliet Junior College Fine Arts Department’s production of “Proof,” directed by JJC Fine Arts Assistant Professor Tammy Perkins on April 20-22 and April 26-29 at 7:30 p.m.; and April 22-23, 29 at 2 p.m. in the Joliet Junior College Black Box Theatre in K-Building, on the Main Campus at 1215 Houbolt Road in Joliet.
“Proof”, a Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning drama by David Auburn, is a dramatic exploration of a brilliant young woman haunted by both the mathematical genius of her father and the mental illness she fears she may have inherited from him. It is also a story about human relationships, suggesting that developing trust and love can be as difficult, and just as uncertain, as establishing the truth of a mathematical proof.
The cast includes: Paul Zavala and Jake Busse of Joliet; Taylor O’Brien of New Lenox; and Elizabeth Cronin of Custer Park. Ashley Lopez of Oswego is the stage manager; and Gage Frederiksen of New Lenox and Eric Marshall of Plainfield are assistant stage managers.
Ticket prices are $8 for the general public, $5 for senior citizens and $3 for students with additional discounts available for JJC faculty and staff. To purchase tickets, call the box office at (815) 280-2200.
