JJC Culinary Arts Department Raises More Than $13,000 at Fine Dining Events

The Joliet Junior College Culinary Arts Department raised $13,214 for student scholarships, faculty professional development and equipment for the department this past school year.

Wandering Feast 2017

Fundraising efforts included the department’s Farm-to-Fork Dinner in September 2016 and the new Wandering Feast in April (replacing the annual Spring Gala).

The Farm-to-Fork Dinner is an outdoor event where culinary students prepare in-season, local food for up to 200 guests. The Wandering Feast is a food-grazing event where guests get to explore the many commercial kitchen and bakery labs while sampling food and pastries prepared by all the students, along with local craft beer and wines. In addition to raising funds, these events allow students to showcase what they have learned throughout the year.
