Neil Simon’s “Rumors” Takes Center Stage at Joliet Junior College Oct. 5-8

The community is invited to a Joliet Junior College Fine Arts Department production of “Rumors,” directed by Associate Fine Arts Professor Tammy Perkins, on Oct. 5-7 at 7:30 p.m. and on Oct. 8 at 2 p.m. in the Fine Arts Theatre on the JJC Main Campus, 1215 Houbolt Road in Joliet.

A delightful farce written by Neil Simon, “Rumors” centers around four wealthy couples attending a wedding anniversary of their friends Charles and Myra Brock. When they arrive, they discover that the host, who is also the deputy mayor of New York, has just shot himself. As he lies bleeding from a flesh wound with his wife nowhere in sight, his lawyer, Ken, and Ken’s wife, Chris, must get “the story” straight before the other guest arrive.

The cast features Shane Tierney, Allie Elise Tierney of New Lenox, Christan Moreno and Zac Schuch of Bolingbrook, Kyle Conway, Sylmarie Soto and Khloie Wallace of Joliet, Grace Cooney of Plainfield, Chrs Gorman of Verona, and Kelley Beggs of Romeoville.

This production is stage managed by Kate Stapp of Joliet, and assisted by Eric Marshall of Plainfield and Taylor O‘Brien of New Lenox.

Ticket prices are $8 for the general public, $5 for senior citizens and $3 for students. To purchase tickets for any show, call the box office at 815-280-2200.
