Community Invited to Enjoy Carols and Chocolate Dec. 10

The Joliet Junior College Chorale will present its 16th Annual Carols and Chocolate concert on Sunday, December 10 at 3 p.m. in the Fine Arts Theatre on JJC’s Main Campus, 1215 Houbolt Road in Joliet.

Following the concert, the audience will be invited to enjoy a complimentary buffet of fabulous chocolate delights donated by local businesses and by members of the Chorale.

The program selected by Philip Spencer, conductor, will feature a variety of choral music for the holiday season.  The major work will be Magnificat by Andrew Carter, a contemporary composer from England. This concert will feature student soloists and instrumentalists in addition to the 45-voice community choir.  Special guests will be the Chamber Singers from Hinsdale Adventist Academy, directed by Chandran J. Daniel, an alumnus of JJC.

The concert will also include a variety of interesting and entertaining holiday carols and anthems including a Hanukkah carol, We Wish You a Merry Christmas, and Jingle Bells Festivo. In addition, the Chorale’s director will lead the audience in a jazzy carol sing-along from the piano.

Tickets are available at the Fine Arts Theatre Box Office one hour prior to the concert: $5.00 adults, $4.00 students and seniors, $2 JJC students.
